Happy Thursday everyone! Hope today is a wonderful and productive day for you. If you have known me for a while, you know what a "numbers geek" I am when it comes to advertising and media. I love analyzing data! I know. It's a sick, sick thing. This isn't that type of blog though. I am now going to say something I never thought I'd say in my 14 years as a marketing professional. I have come to realize that while ratings, metrics and research are important; there's a lot of other powerful elements to consider in order to create an effective marketing strategy. And some of the most important elements are so simple that we don't even think about them. I ran across a short video called, "Smile and Move" last night, and it made me think. There really is alot of power behind a simple geniune smile. People have admitted to finding "love at first sight," because their spouses smiled at them from across the room. And smiles are contagious! Your sincere smile has the power to change your mood as well as the moods of anyone whom you extend it toward. A geniune outpouring of joy has the strength to change someone's day. If that happens at the right moment, you never know. It just might change someone's life. So, don't underestimate the power of your smile as a VERY small, but quite important element in your marketing plan. Do what you love. Have fun. Smile. And watch your business soar to new heights and the lives you touch improve, all because you did something you love. I have posted the video below. Watch it. Smile. And post your comments. You never know whose life you may change. All my best, Tammy Add Comment Good Wednesday to you. Welcome to the very first post of the all new Mustard Seed Marketing blog, SEEDS FOR THE HARVEST. Since this is the premier post of what could potentially become an online addiction, let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Tammy Browning, and I am the President of a marketing firm in Knoxville, TN. I won’t bore you with too many details about me (you can read about me on my company’s website at http://mustardseedmarketinginc.com). However, I will say this. I love what I do, and I feel blessed to be given the talents to contribute to the lives of others. Sure. My contribution to the improvement of our community is small in comparison to many others. In fact, some wouldn't typically classify marketing as an act of goodwill to our community. In some cases I would agree. However, I would have to say that marketing is MY way of giving back for the natural gifts and talents I was given. Yes, my contribution is really small. But then again, it all starts with something small. Doesn’t it? And Isn’t it amazing when small things lead to huge success? That’s really the idea behind my business. It only takes a tiny amount of faith to reap huge rewards when you are passionate about what you are doing. I strive to make that a realization for my clients. So what seeds are you going to plant for yourself? For your business? In your personal life? Start cultivating so that when you plant your seeds, you will receive a bountiful harvest. | AuthorTammy Browning Brooks is a16-year veteran in advertising and media research and an alumnus of The University of Tennessee Knoxville.
